I'm getting a fault near the end of the install process, where MSI bombs with the following error:

Internal Error 2753 Config.exe

Any ideas?

According to MSDN it is an MSI error:

2753 The File '[2]' is not marked for installation.

I assume the Config.EXE program being quoted is the PVR one. Any guesses as to what is going wrong here?

I've tried uninstalling the old PVR first, but it still bombs.

Now - after a complete removal and a cleaning of the registry with RegMechanic, the install gets to the very end and then... abruptly rolls back! It finally ends with "Installation ended prematurely because of an error." with an OK button. There is no other clue available (nothing in the system event log).

Help!

An attempted update. The original update attempt crashed and stopped. I then removed and cleaned. The fresh install then rolled back at the end.

Looks like it might be an idea to actually add the operation:

sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"

to the installation script!

It did it for me too!

Thanks for your help.
