1) What causes this problem initially? (when will I have to run this bat file again?)
I dont know. I was most likely something going wrong at install time.

We've probably seen this specific filter not registered in half dozen logs over the years. The reregisterfilters.bat was created to help recover from this sort of install problem.

Quote:2) Why does my pre-programmed recording stop if I watch Live TV? Which config options affect this?
Create another thread for this, reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Hi I am having exactly the same issue with my Nova T 500 - both tuners seem to be working for live TV but nothing gets recorded.

Could you possibly tell me what I am doing wrong? I started looking at logs myself, but there are so many & I don't really know which one I need or what I am looking for...

I tried the reregisterfilters.bat , but it made no difference.

I also unticked commercial detection/removal in case this was where things were going wrong, but again no improvement.

Cheers

What mux are you using (misc2 tab in config)? When I play back a recording on my machine it's a .mpg (cyberlink mux) or a .dvr-ms (dvr-ms mux) file.
Your logs look like it's trying to playback a .ts file so I'm guessing you're machine is recording whole the transport stream and not the individual channel.

Its failing to start your device.

Have you seen the device work in any other software? For example, WinTV.

Are you sure no other software is already using the device in the background when GB-PVR attempts to use it?

For what it is worth, I had the same problem with my setup last week - that is recording created directory and created the initial mpg which was about 1 meg in size. Apart from that nothing.

After scratching head for a few days noticed that the drive containing the recording directory only had 3 meg free.

This could be the cause here as well.Smile

Hi thanks for your responses, and in answer all of above:

The Mux selected is AtiMPEGMux

The device works (live TV & recording) with the Cyberlink PowerCinema software that was supplied with card .

As far as I can tell no other software is running in background (or foreground) that might access the device.
I just tried uninstalling Cyberlink PowerCinema in case this set up a recording service or similar running on startup - but after rebooting & trying again to record in GB PVR, still the same result

I have about 106 GB free on the hard drive recordings appear in , so lack of space shouldn't be an issue.

What else might be going on?

Cheers
Paul
