switching from gbpvr to regular cable ?

Ok, I have gbpvr running with MVP and we use digital cable, the cable comes with (on its own menu) music videos and pay per view, im wondering what might be the best way to have gbpvr running and be able to get to the cable menus and not have a delay, I realize maybe the live tv mode but how could I do this using MVP, I also am using the MX-500 remote which might be able to multi task this function, I'd hate to loose all these extras........

You can do this by sending your cable box signal to GBPVR if you used svideo or composite output as a recording source, however you would have two major problems.

1. You would need to use the cable remote to control the cable box in addition to using the MVP remote to control GBPVR

2. You would notice a frustrating and noticeable delay in response to the cable remote keys.
