Client / Server issues

I'm now trying to connect another PC to it in client mode.

I've tried changing the Decoder settings (from System Default, to cyberlink, to FFdshow) and tried streaming / file sharing options with the same result every time:

On the client: I can play stuff from the library no problem. the guide shows up fine. If I try 'Live TV' the screen goes black for 10 seconds or so, then kicks me back to the menu.

On the server: When I click live TV (on the client) the tuner status changes to 'recording...whatever the show is' for 10 seconds or so, then goes back to sleeping.

I'm having almost the same problem but using 'file sharing' mode and using DVR-MS mux....it always kicks back to the main menu on the client, the recording file is created on the server and can be played by browsing through explorer and is a perfect recording.

I see in the logs that the client thinks that the file is zero size.

From memory, .dvr-ms files cant be played from another machine while they're recording. (since microsoft uses shared memory in this circumstance, which isnt available between machines)

Have changed to .ts and that works like a charm....now I hope comskip works with .ts???

I must be missing something, TS files will not fast forward well at all I have seen other postings about this problem but no solution and no real answer to say that this is the best we can get it now. The recordings that I make can be scrubbed perfectly in windows media player but not GBPVR.
Any help??
