Problem setting up live TV

I'm really sorry if this has been covered before, I've had a search and cannot find a solution. I'm new to GBPVR, I had it running a while ago on a single machine, I've now upgraded the hardware and infrastructure and decided to try streaming. I have a workstation setup with a haupagge nova twin tuner, GBPVR is setup and working. I've shared the GBPVR folder, the Recording and Live TV and set so users can change files. I've pointed the client to the workstation shares but cannot get it to work. GBPVR will start up you can then click on LiveTV option and a black screen come ups, then shortly afterwards GBPVR reverts to the mainmenu. If you look in the share on the server there are files a few seconds long of BBC1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I tried this over a wired gigabit link and wireless and got the same results.

Have the same problem, would love a solution. BTW, have spent the last couple of months working with Media Centre, Vista Ultimate, MythTV... looking for a good system that supported a working EPG and PC clients. Have to say that GBPVR can really teach the others a few lessons. Well done. As soon as I fix the PC streaming issue I will be a very happy punter. Well done.

I think firewalls (on the server) getting in the way are a common client problem.
ISTR (but am not sure) that the mux on the server can cause this as well (I'm using cyberlink with streaming protocol) and it works fine.

Can you play existing recordings?

Next step would be to post server and client logs to let the boss have a looksee.

It failed to connect to the server. This is either because you've specified the wrong server name in the client config, or because you've got a firewall getting in the way of communication.

Do you have the server side logs (recording service I think) that covers that time. It would show if the server side is getting the request and/or responding.

I have the client and server talking, I know get the same on both clients, from searching looks like it could be to do with codecs? Any advice, or setting in the config i can tweak?

The client streaming is only compatible with .mpg files, which are produced when you use the Cyberlink or ATI mux for recording. You're using the Microsoft DVR-MS mux, which produces .dvr-ms files.
