Have not spent much time on it, since I just started watching recorded (by GB-PVR) shows on the PCH. I can watch just about anything (H.264, DiVX, AVI, etc) including LiveTV with no problems, but shows that were recorded by GB-PVR have the same breakup (more like once every 15 seconds it drops a second) problem described here.

The box running GB-PVR is a very powerful box with raid1 750g hard drives running Vista. Using a Hauppauge HVR-1250 tuner card (only have 1 in there right now). The same recordings seem to play fine watching it on the Vista/GB-PVR machine.

I dont know then. The TS Mux is pretty much bit for bit what was received from the broadcaster.

We have seen some broadcasts in the past that have a big timestamp difference between the audio and video streams that the PCH doesnt like. Its possible you're seeing something like this.

You should possibly try posting a link to sample file on the NMT forums and hopefully Syabas can take a look.

Martin

Martin,

Is there something (settings or options) that can be tuned or changed for the ts mux option? I am on Verizon FiOS and I can watch a channel live on the PCH with no problems, stop watching it. Have it record the channel and the constant audio drop-out starts. It is strange as the video never glitches at all. At first I thought it was a AC3 issue or something but a stereo audio stream does the same thing. It happens on EVERY recording.

Thanks,
Roy

I didn't see one of your samples so the quote is misleading. Do you get get the same bad performance when you try to view a recording in progress?

Switched to the ATI Mux and while the previous recordings are still jacked, have not had a single problem since the change.

I'm glad this works for you but I'm guessing there is actually something else wrong, so you aren't Ken Jennings yet.
