Hello there, I'm gradually managing to set up GB-PVR and think that once I've got it all sorted it will be great1

My setup is a Windows XP system (P4, 1.25gb RAM, Geforce 6200, Hauppauge HVR3000 card)
I've three problems at the moment that maybe I can be helped with.

1) I have successfull searched for channels on the DVB-T and DVB-S tuners. On the 'Capture sources' page I have set them both to 'DVB-EPG broadcast' thinking that at least the DVB-T tuner will supply Freeview info. Unfortunately the TV Guide in GB-PVR says '(no show details)' for all the slots on all the channels. Any idea how I can fix this?

2) On the internet radio page, I can choose a channel and it says the channel is 'buffering' but it just stays that way, buffering forever (I have broadband - so connection is quite fast).

3) My music library is not on Drive C, it is on Drive E, so how can I change to that folder within GB-PVR, it only seems to show me folders on Drive C.

Thanks very much for your help!

Click 'Update EPG' in the cofnig app (capture source screen), then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log. On past experience though, its probably a case of some firewall software on your machine not allowing pvrx2.exe to contact the streaming server.

You can specify the drive/directory on the 'Directories' tab of the config app.

Number 2 is happening because you've got your recording directory set to c:\temp, but the directory doesnt exist.

Ok - now I have info for my DVB-T channels!
I think I got it by switching the firewall entries for some files in c:\windows\system32\windows media\server to 'allow' instead of ask (it never did mind you!)

they were nscm.exe, nspmon.exe, nsum.exe and wins.exe

Do you think this is what did it?

Just 'now and next' for the DVB-S channels - I guess the freesat EPG isn't read.

Those are nothing to do with GB-PVR, so wont make any difference to the GB-PVR EPG.

The app only reads the standard DVB EPG. Freesat is not following that standard, so probably only gives you now/next.

Hi again...

So I can see the now and next info for my satellite channels, I'd like to be able to update them manually before I open gb-pvr.

When I right click the icon in the notification area, there is an option to 'update epg', however, when I do this, nothing seems to happen - I get a very brief appearance of the sandtimer and then nothing. ANy suggestions?

cheers

Steve
