Hi all,

I'm having problems when attempting to watch or record analog TV via a Hauppauge PVR-150. DVB-S receoption through the HVR-3000 works without a hitch. In order to troubleshoot things, I've disabled all channels via the HVR to force GBPVR to use the PVR-150. I'm in Wellington, NZ.

If I launch PVRX2 and try to watch a program, PVRX2 goes to 99-100% CPU. The screen is black and there's no sound. If I view the Recording Status via GBPVRTray, it shows the PVR-150 is in Live Preview mode, as I'd expect. PVRX2 is unresponsive at this point and I have to kill it with Task Manager.

If I select "record" rather than "watch" then GBPVRRecordingService goes to 100% CPU. The recording status shows "sleeping", which is odd. PVRX2 is responsive though, and I can quit gracefully.

Using the Tuning Assistant displays pictures as I'd expect, so I know I am at least receiving the broadcasts.

I had suspicions about the Windows install, as it's quite old. I did a new install of WinXP Pro SP2 to a new disk, but the problem persists.

The HVR-3000 is using driver 2.122.26109.0, and the PVR-150 is using 2.0.48.25037 from the WinTV 4.6 driver CD - the latest I could find.

ffdshow-tryouts rev1723 is installed on the system to provide audio/video decoding. .NET 3.5 is installed, as is the vcredist package. The hardware is a 2.4GHz P4 Celeron with 1Gb of RAM. Onboard video via the Intel 865 chipset, so nothing flash but DVB-S works a treat.

The BPVRREcordingService-native logs are aroud half a gig each, and one of the pvrx2-native logs is 160 Mb, so I'm loathe to attach them to the first post! Smile

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

Those logs have obviously got some error in them (over and over). I'll need to see the error. To make sure the file isnt too big, I'd start task manager, start GB-PVR, then start analog live tv, then kill PVRX2.exe before the log files get to big, then zip and attach them and I'll let you know what is happening.

Thanks Sub. Logs attached. I stopped the recording service and deleted the old logs in order to get a fresh set (except for the tray utility).

Timeframes:
17:38:00 started GBPVR recording service
17:38:30 launched PVRX2
17:39:00 started recording program on TV1
17:39:30 kill GBPVRrecordingServoce process
17:4x:xx gracefully shut down PVRX2

Cheers

You've got the device type set incorrectly in the capture source settings. You've got your PVR150, but have it incorrectly set as a PVR250 or PVR350.

Hey Sub - thanks for the responses. Accurate, and amazingly quick! Changing to the correct card resolved the problems. Paypal donation will be on its way later today Smile

Thanks again
