The net radio plug in is pretty cool!

I figured out how to add a station to the favorites, but is there a way to create a section in the "web" area? Specifically I'd like to create a folder for old time radio stations.

Also, the remote control volume control doesn't work for net radio?

Thanks!

The built in Net Radio screen has predefined categories, that map to categories on the Shoutcast website, and these cant be changed. You can add all your stations as favourites though.

You could also try the WebRadio plugin from the wiki though, which defines the radio stations in config files. With this you can add your own groupings etc.

Thanks Sub,

I hadn't looked at the Web Radio plugin . . . Since I'm just learning I was sticking to the ones listed as working with the current version and it's not listed there.

I may play with it in the next couple days.

Does the volume control work in it? Volume from the remote is always nice!

Thanks!

With the existing net radio screen, did you try pressing the numeric keypad +/- keys on your keyboard? I just tried and these seem to be controlling it correctly.

Yep! That worked too!

I then dug deeper . . . the left and right arrows will also control the volume in livetv, videos, etc. and I had them programmed into LM Remote Keymap so that when I pressed the volume up or down on my remote it would think the left or right was being pressed on the keyboard . . . that controls the volume on everything but the net radio. The net radio wants the + or - keys though and doesn't respond to the left and right arrows so I just reprogrammed LMRKM so that the + and - are sent when hit the volume on my remote and now the volume is indeed controllable on the net radio! Pretty sweet!

I just wish now the Hauppauge remote was a universal remote so I could turn the TV on and off and switch to the computer input . . . guess I'll have to look at a JP1 universal remote (I currently have JP1 remotes and have them running everything perfectly and I hate to give that up. I'm sure there are some JP1 remotes with all the keys I need though, just gotta dig!)

THANKS for everything Sub!

The reason left/right is supported in some places is because the old Hauppuage 34 button remote shared the navigation keys with the vol +/- and CH +/- keys, but obviously these are used for other things in the apps, so these keys only apply where left/right navigtion isnt possible. The keypad +/- keys work everywhere, and are what the volume keys on other remotes are mapped to.

How? Sad No wiki or forum or manual entries I can find.

Update: Found a post from 2006! CTRL+K is the RECORD function which acts as FAVORITE in the NET RADIO!

I haven't found a way to search shoutcast through the GBPVR interface, pretty much you have the preset categories and stations and that's it. If you go to the shoutcast web site via internet explorer though then you can do a search. Once it pops up the stations that match your search you can point to the play icon by the station name and right click and then save the .pls file. Save it to the Net Radio directory. Now when you start GBPVR and go to Net Radio it'll have that station listed under favorites.
