I'm currently using Schedules Direct and I have no real complaints - it updates fine and I do get program descriptions and stuff. It's just that my cable box (from Charter) gives longer descriptions and tells if it's a new program or a repeat.

I've installed the TV Listings plugin and it works and adds a little more info - things such as the genre and stuff, but it's not showing whether it's a new or repeat either.

I pulled up M$ Vista Media Center's guide and it's giving new or repeat info too. I thought MC got it's listings from Zap2It, which is also the source for Schedules Direct?

Anyway to get the additional info using Schedules Direct? Or, is there a better alternative for the EPG info?

Thanks!

Steve

Whether a show is new or a repeat is supplied by Schedules Direct, but is thrown away by GB-PVR. Unfortunately this type info isnt available for the bulk of GB-PVR users (outside of north america) so I decided against implementing support for displaying this info in the app.

The app pretty much only uses the title, sub-title, description, start time, duration, genre & parental rating.

VMC also gets its info from zap2it, so should have the same length descriptions etc. Your cable box may or may not have longer descriptions - I dont know where they get their listings.

I see. I miss it, but I can live without it!

Well, back to loading up my main computer . . . some misnerablesonsofuh#$%@! hijacked my web browser so I'm reloading XP on it tonight so I'm getting some quality GBPVR time while I'm keeping an eye on it's reload.

I hope there's a special place in hell for virus writers, malicious hackers, etc.!!!

Have you looked at "UltraXMLTV" while I don't use I have read it allows you to put a * on new programs that will display in GB-PVR & a heap of other stuff.
