change hip config on the fly question

I hope this is the right place to post this question. I am using a MCE 2005 remote with dual blaster capability. I also have a MCE keyboard/remote that works with above ir receiver. If I use the standard usb ehome driver that comes with Media center and insure that ehtray.exe is running I can use the keyboard fine. Since I changed the driver to msecir.sys and disabled ehtray.exe the keyboard no longer works. I realize that I can program it from with in HIP manually. I noticed that HIP comes with an MCE config file as if one was to use it with media center. My question is, Is there a way to dynamically change the HIP input config? So say I select Internet browser and hide GBPVR. Now firefox has full focus. Could I then swith configuration files into HIP and thus have wireless keyboard fucntionality. Or is there another way to do this that Im missing?

I remember in the HIP forums something about being able to load different configuration files. There are two ways I think that this can work.

1. if you are using GBPVR as a front end, then use a custom task which loads the proper config, runs the app, loads the GBPVR config upon exit
2. use HIP to dedicate a key to toggle configs

I haven't done it myself, so you'll have to do the leg work from here.

Another option would be do not use the replacement drivers anymore...I don't think they are needed since it's possible through a registry entry to disable the remote from controlling windows directly - although I'm not sure what that does to the keyboard.

it's much easier than that, just have the app setup in hip with it's own keys, hip will notice what has focus and activate the keys for that app automatically...
you know in hip the main screen? it's the big list at top, just add a new 'app' and program it for the keys it needs and then it'll work with it...
hover over hip tray to see what app hip thinks is active and corresponding keyset it's using..
'systemwide keys' are active when any app has focus, otherwise keys are only for the specific app you've set them up in..
