I am enjoying getting used to this program and noticing the differences between its interface and my old replayTVs interface.

One thing that would make the guide search more efficient is to have the ability to jump a whole 'page' up and down in the alphabet, and in the alphabetical program list. Ctrl-left and Ctrl-right are already used as a quick 24 hour jump in the guide, so they are mapped to my remote buttons. Why not use them for a quick jump in the guide search as well? Smile Also, the lists should wrap around so when you press up on A, you get to the numbers and vice versa.

Thanks for your work on this great program.

Ok, while I'm at it I'll make a few more suggestions:
-While watching delayed live TV, pressing F2 (live TV) could bring you right to the end of the buffer, or 'live'.
-The recorded guide could use a section that contains all shows, recorded AND recording, and the difference could be shown by highlighted color. I don't see the need for different menu sections with separated recorded and recording programs, it's twice as many places to look Smile

You could press Page Up/Down keys. These are mapped to the CH+/- keys on your remote.

Sorry, I prefer it the way it is currently. The 'ready' recordings are grouped and in alphabetical order, so its not a great place to show recordings that are pending or in progress - they deserve special treatment which is why they show in their own 'pending' list.

Ok, I was going by the wiki key definitions and hadn't known about that, thanks. My chup and ChDown remote keys were mapped to up and down arrows, but that can be changed.

You can watch shows while they are recording, that's why I didn't get the special treatment. The only difference is they haven't been run through the post-processor but neither is 'live' tv. But you win of course Smile

One of the things I used to do was start watching a show 15 minutes after the recording started so by the time I reached the end of the show, all the ads were skipped and it was about 'live'. This is still possible it seems, just find them in the currently recording section.

I tend to agree with the OP about the recordings list. In my exploration of the software so far, that's one of many things I found strange: why should a recording in progress be listed separately from all the other recordings? TiVo doesn't do it that way, it just shows a red record-button icon next to the show(s) recording now.

This is not to say the 'Ready' and 'Pending' lists need to be changed in some way, just that an additional 'ALL' list would be nice.

Sorry, its just my preference for how I want it to work. There also used to some technical for it - namely the hardware MPEG4 encoder devices that GB-PVR supported which produced .AVI files, or devicse that produced .TS files until a couple of releases ago, and these werent playable until the recording was complete.

I've never seen a TiVo, so I'm not surprised there is differences with how it works.

Sorry, I don't mean to imply that GB-PVR should work exactly like a TiVo, just giving an example of a way of doing it that makes sense to me.

Gotcha, explanations are always welcome, thanks. I thought it was a leftover of some past requirement, and it sounds like it is.
