At the moment my window will not let me size it to anything but a 4:3 shape. If I get it so that channels are looking right by F7ing to letterbox, I have dead space in the window that I dont like.

Is there a way to get the window to be either 16:9 or else freely sizable to any aspect (like every other media player) but still have the aspect correct when I fullscreen it? I have a 4:3 monitor if it matters. ideally I dont want to have to F7 many times between fullscreen and a window to get it looking right.

I am ok if 4:3 stuff is postagestamped since there is so little of it now and I am windowed most of the time anyway.

I disagree with this statement - The media players I have just tried - WinTV, WinDVD, DVB Dream; all have to be manually set to 4:3 or 16:9, depending on your preference / content, and usually you only set it once to match your screen. Once set, you cannot 'freely size them to any aspect' - the aspect remains fixed.
The only player I have that can be resized to anything is media player classic. Media player 11 can be resized to any aspect, but the video itself stays in it's native aspect, with black borders where needed, whatever the size of the player...
