OK -- first. I've been following the Hauppauge HD PVR on May 1 thread as well, and problems here may relate to issues discussed there. But I'll post here anyway, since this is the support forum and all.

First, attaching logs.

Second, the symptoms. Well, not many actually. We press play, screen blanks, moment later, the GUI returns. I could see no sign of an error in the log, but I don't necessarily know for what I'm looking.

We -DID- in fact have the new HDPVR drivers (with 5.1 support) installed, but have since rolled back to the previous drivers. So, in theory, the new drivers shouldn't be an issue. But I'm not making any promises.

I'm next going to go hunting for an application that we can use to check the "program_info_len" field (as mentioned in the linked thread) ourselves to determine if that is the problem. Meanwhile, any thoughts that any might have on the issue would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

Download tsreader and check if its got an AC3 audio stream. If it has, then you're still running the new version, and it wont work with GB-PVR until the next release.

I ran into this problem also. You must uninstall the new drivers by running the hcwclear.exe program on the included cd before reinstalling the old ones.

Many thanks beav_35 -- that was, in fact, the problem. Thanks for pointing it out!
