Hi,

I checked the wiki and the posts on this and did not get a warm and fuzzy about this card. I would like to get some input before I open the package. I got it from Best Buy and have Vista Home Premium 64bit and a new HP entertainment laptop.

Does this card work with OTA Hi-def and Analog cable? I have two other systems running Hauppauge cards (1600 and 1800) but these are desktops and I wanted a laptop in my bedroom so any input would be great.

The analog side of this device wont work, due to the lack of the (required) hardware MPEG2 encoder. The digital side will probably work though.

I dont think there is a lot of options for external devices. These typically dont have hardware MPEG2 encoders. There is only a few dedicated analog devices, like the hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2, but they're pretty big...
