Hi everyone,

I just downloaded gbpvr last night, and have been trying to set it up. i want to set it up on 2 pc's, but at this stage i am only trying to get it going on one of them.

the problem is that when i set up the capture device in config, it scans, but all i get is channel 10 and channel 10 hd. each time it scans I get these 2 channels, so I end up with about 20 copies of channel 10.

I'm running xp, and have a leadtek dtv200h

the other pc i want to try it on is a vista machine, but i haven't tried it on that one yet. the card listed in the device manager of that machine is a hauppauge wintv-hvr 67xx

any ideas?

Zip and post your logs after performing a scan.

cheers, here they are.

I've installed gbpvr on the vista machine too, and after scans i end up with 3 out of the 5 free to air network channels. I got the 2 WIN tv channels, 5 PRIME ones, 4 SBS ones. There's no ABC network, or SC10. do you want the logs from that machine too?

I've seen this happen before, it happens to me if either a scan crashes and I go back and try again, or if I cancel a scan halfway through and go back and re-scan.

For me the only way to stop it is to delete the capture source from config, do a cold boot, re-setup the cap source double checking your settings before scanning, this hopefully makes sure the first scan after the boot is a good , else its delete capture source and cold boot time again.

For info I have a dtv200h on my office machine and its runs quite happily with GBPVR so keep at it. I have not seen this issue on this particular device though, but then I don't tend to touch the office machine on the scanning side of things so I maybee didn't notice it.

Unfortunately I cant see anything obvious in the logs. There is no sign of any errors.

Returning the same channels several times is usually sign of buggy drivers that continue to deliver previously buffered data when it attempts to tune a new channel and fails to get a lock. We've seen this on a couple of devices in the past. In generaly this is a really bad things, and can really screw things up...

Maybe try scanning 'all countries/all regions' in case it has a better list of frequencies that match your real transmissions. You may also need to try the option to explicitly scan offsets - this device may or may not require it.

...or this device has some quirkyness that doesnt like the way GB-PVR does things, and is incompatible.

I'm using an HVR3000 for NZ freeview. This was happening to me - strange scan results, missing channels that should have been there. My initial scan was not a good one - forgot to have the cable connected to the card.

This suggestion fixed it first time. Thanks Smile
