I am not sure if GBPVR is meant to be like this, but it would defeat the object if it is so.

Scheduled recording does not select the channel to record. I have seen that there is no flashing of the IR blaster led's when recording begins. This is the same for quick and manual recording. So it seems GBPVR is not sending channel change to HIP.

However channel changing works fine in other respects, ie viewing manually or selecting from EPG. I am using an MCE which is configured okay.

Any suggestions why this is happening?

HIPSend.exe uses the clipboard to send data to HIP.exe. The recording service runs in a background session that doesnt share a clipboard with HIP.exe (which is running under the user's session).

The work around is to go into Control Panel -> Administartive Tools -> Service, view the properties of the GB-PVR Recording Service, and tick the 'allow service to interact with desktop', then restart the service.

HI

Thanks for the reply regarding channel changing not happening from scheduled and quick recording.

I tried what u suggested and the following is what i get.

After a reboot and start up of GBPVR the first scheduled recording changes the channel quite fine. Thereafter any subsequent scheduled recordings do not change to the channel. Sometimes the IR blaster led just gives a half hearted little flicker and other times there isnt even any flicker at all.

I get the impression that things get too busy and the program does not get channel info out properly.

Any suggestions?

I am testing this all on a P4 3.2GHz, 1Gig Ram, 80Gig Ide, Radeon 9000IGP, USB WinTV PVR.

If you post the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log file, I can check that GB-PVR is living up to its end of the bargain by running HipSend.exe. If that much is working, you'd probably have to ask the author of HIP for more info. They may have some logs that give more details about what is happening for you after HipSend.exe is run.

HI

Here are the 2 log files. I hope you can figure out what is happening. It seems to work sometimes and others not. I sped things up when testing by changing system clock few minutes before schedule time.

Thanks in advance.

That log doesnt show any attempt to record. Try again and repost the log.
