Ok, with Sub's help I managed to get the digital tuners to work on my Hauppauge 2250 and I have spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out what channel is what (in the end I have mapped 27 channels that I want to keep).
I downloaded AC3Filter (had no sound w/ digital) and it is working well, and I have set up two xmltv EPG sources (one digital, one analog) and I believe I have it all working in harmony.
My BIG problem is that when I scan through channels I can go from analog to digital, but once I have gone to digital I can not go to back to analog without exiting back to the GUI and then going back to live tv. I get a black screen with no sound when I change from a digital to an analog channel.
I haven't had the opportunity to test if this also happens with scheduled recordings, but my hunch is that it will.
I am using the ATI renderer for MPEG2 video, and have ffdshow setup to do h.264 (but im pretty sure that has nothing to do with it since this is all mpeg2 data).
If anyone knows how to solve this problem or has any suggestions I am willing to try most anything.
I am running XP SP3 w/ onboard ATI 3200 graphics, 2 gigs of ram, and of course the hauppauge 2250.
thanks.

Update:
The problem does exist in scheduled recordings as well, if the tuner goes from a digital recording to an analog one it has the same problem as live tv. This effectively kills the ability to use both sources, I will have to make a choice if I cannot get this straightened out.
I have tried every combination of decoder / codec available to program and it doesn't seem to help.
