I've been considering replacing my HVR-1600 to improve ATSC reception. I want to keep the ability to record NTSC and ATSC. I'm considering the HVR-2250 but reading the Hauppauge web site I see there's only one antenna/cable input for TV and one for FM radio. Can anyone with this card confirm this is the case? I would have expected Hauppauge to have one input for NTSC and one for ATSC/QAM like they did with the HVR-1600.

yes, it has just the one TV input. There's an internal splitter to send the signal to both tuners. The distinction between the HVR-2250 and the HVR-1600 is that the 2250 has two hybrid tuners that can tune NTSC/ATSC/QAM (hence why there aren't separate inputs), while the HVR-1600 has one NTSC tuner and one ATSC/QAM tuner.

Thanks for confirming that. I can take the 2250 off my list. Maybe a 1250 or 950 for ATSC and keep the 1600 for NTSC. I would have preferred to just have one card though.

oh, I see, you need the separate connectors because your digital and analog signals are coming from different sources. that is the downside to that setup... too bad, it's a great tuner.

I have an HVR-1250 too, but it's been kicked out of my lone PCIe slot by the HVR-2250. I can vouch for it as being a great ATSC tuner. These days my HVR-2250 tunes digital and analog cable, the old KWorld 315U does analog cable, and my HVR-850 is connected to my antenna for ATSC.
