I know I should know better but I've gotten lazy in my searching..

Ok here it goes, how do I map a key to the aspect ratio (F7) key using only the hauppauge config (ie, no HIP or anything like that)?

My server only has hauppauge remote (my client is running event ghost, so that one was easy), and I really don't want to add anything else to it if I can help it.

Without using HIP or anything like that I don't think that you are going to map a remote button to the F7 Aspect Ratio function - there isn't a GB-PVR configuration option to do what you want.

This page from the GB-PVR Documentation Wiki might be useful - Remote Control to GB-PVR keystroke mapping

Yeah, i saw that one. But you gave me an idea. I don't use music or any of those other buttons so maybe I can go in and change those. I guess I have to find out where that's store, I think I remember....<goes on search..Smile)

that wiki page is nice but is lacking the critical information that you need. Namely that you change the buttons on the Hauppague remote, you need to edit c:\windows\irremote.ini in notepad. (click start, run, irremote.ini)

got the the bottom section titled [pvrx2]

I assigned F7 to CHNLPREV as the bottom doesn;t serve any other useful function.
CHNLPREV={f7}

Also....in the [default] section I added

GRNPOWER={run(c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe)}

this will launch pvrx2 for you if it is not running or give it focus again if it is already running.

once you have saved irremote.ini you need to restart ir to load the new settings.

aha! That's the file. Yes now I remember, I have previously edited that file on an older server system for grnpower to do the same thing as well. Thanks for the info...

That is what I've been looking for. Imageburn will often steal focus when I use BurnDVDX2. Thanks for the tip.

pleased to help - I'm not sure if the fact that it works at all is down to ir.exe or pvrx2.exe but it works..!
