Does anybody know how to edit these files. I have a few movies i want to keep and would like to edit out the adds and the padding. I have Studio 11 which i use with my video cam files but it will not handle these ones. I have tried to convert them to avi using a number of programs but none will handle these files. I am guessing that i may still have a codec problem. The only program that will work with these files (apart from GBPVR) is VLC media player.

Maybe a related problem but HD TV3 (NZ) files i can record, but playback wrecks the sound (pic ok). I am picking that this is also a codec problem.

Any sugestions gratefully accepted

Very few applications can cope with the audio format used by New Zealand's FreeviewHD, so you're probably out of luck at this stage. It looks like this audio format is going to become a popular choice for European HD TV though, so I'm guessing support for it will start to appear in various applications in the future.

Welcome to the bleeding edge.....
As far as I know there isn't anything out yet. I assume you're talking about Freeview|HD and not regular freeview?

VideoRedo was looking at bringing something out, but not sure if its out yet.

I have been using handbrake (version 0.9.3 i think) to trancode New Zealand's FreeviewHD. Have only used it a few times but seems to handle our audio format no probs at all.

a quote from their website http://handbrake.fr/

"Support for New Zealand and Norwegian HDTV broadcasts (H.264 and AAC-LATM in MPEG-TS)"

Hope this helps, i have not yet explored the command line interface version of this software to see if it can be called directly by GBPVR, but will let you know if I have any luck!

I've also used handbrake (only for transcoding) and it worked seamlessly.

The other thing you can try (for trimming) is TSDoctor (not sure if it preserves audio, so try it), although it's pretty much a no-frills tool. But I think recently a video preview mode was added...
