I sort of solved it, maybe. Made a fresh install on the XP partition with EPG working, and copied over the whole gbpvr folder to the W2k partition, where I had the problem. EPG is now working fine. Question is will I be able to update the EPG. Will tell you in two weeks time.

No I was not able to update the EPG, so I have instead made a batch file copying gbpvr.db3 from the XP to the W2k partition
