Hello

I'm not getting sound when playing various types of video file in GBVR (1.3.11) but when I load up lastgraph in graphedit straight after they all play fine.

I've tried just about every combination of decoders and renderers but I can't get a peep out of it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

If you have vista, volume is set on a per app basis. Open your sound mixer and check the setting for pvrx2.exe while gbpvr is running

That's odd, sound works fine with the 'slick' skin but not with the 'blue' skin I usually use.

I cant think of any reason it'd be different based on the skin.

There wasn't. It turned out to be a co-incidence.

What happened was that the file I played was an AVI with AC3 audio which, for some reason, works whereas the other types of files I've been trying (AVI with MP3 audio and MKV with AC3) don't work unless I've played one of the AVI's with AC3 sound first. If I play one of the AVI/AC3 files first it seems to wake the audio renderer up or something and everything suddenly works as it's supposed to.

I've had a look at all the files in graphedit and the AVI/AC3 files are going through the Cyberlink Audio decoder whereas the others use either the Nvidia Audio decoder or the MPEG Layer 3 decoder.

And, as I said before, everything plays fine in whatever order in graphedit.

Pretty weird, huh?

Sorry, I dont know. All I can suggest is trying different decoders.

Also, make sure you have your audio renderer set to 'system default.
