Hi,
I would like to view but not record a composite video source in gbpvr if it possible. Can this be done? what way is best?

I do it. Lots of people use composite to input from set top boxes.
You would need a supported tuner card with composite and it has to have hardware mpeg on board for gbpvr. A PVR150 is often used.

Just add a source, set it to composite input, create a channel in the epg so it can be selected (and say no epg source) and that's it.

Input to viewing will be delayed by a noticeable amount, so use for games etc is not much use.

I was wanting to use it for games so I'll use another program.

There are built-in delays with the hardware as well using input cards with mpeg encoding due just to the encoding. I get noticeable delays when using a PVR150 tuner and using Hauppauge WinTV software when focusing or zooming a security camera - makes focusing a bit tricky - twist, wait, look etc.
