Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone can help? My system was running stable for about 2 weeks and all of the sudden the system sounds within the PVRX2 application now sound all garbled. It is strange because this is the only application that is doing it and when I play live or recorded tv (with PVRX2) it sounds great. Any ideas? BTW, I should mention that I using SPD/IF for audio and it is going into a reciever.

Thanks!

So you're just talking about system sound effects not audio when you playing video files? I'd have no idea. GB-PVR just calls the Window's PlaySound() API passing the filename. I'd have thought it'd be exactly the same in any other app generating system sounds.

I was afraid of that. yeah, it's really strange. I also run xbmc on this computer and it is running fine. It's really weird becuase up until yesterday they worked great. I will just have to shut them off for now.

thanks,

I wouldnt expect xbmc is using the PlaySound() api for any sound effects.

You can test the system sounds in the control panel. Do they work there?

The windows system sounds work fine. I even assigned the sound that GBPVR is using to a window close event and it worked. It seems to be only when I am in gbpvr's menu system.

Just so the thread is complete, I had to re-install the audio card's driver and then it now works fine. I am not sure what the problem was (well I am very sure it was something to do with the realtech driver and not GBPVR) but a reinstall of the driver worked.
