Don't feel bad, this has happened my whole career in telecommunications. I've usually have tried everything there is to try before I ask for help. I'm no guru no way, I just like to try and figure it out myself before I go to the creators.
Just out of curiousity, is there someplace I can insert the bat file I run to reset GBPVR recording service? I have it in Windows scheduled task app now to run X day at X time and to wake the machine to reset GBPVR Recording Service after a scheduled recording. This works great until I want to record something not fitting in the schedule. I can create multiple schedules to run after I record a program but that gets a little out of hand sometimes. Just asking.
Thank you for trying to help.

It's me again, I've been trying different things and have discovered that while a recording is taking place, if I try to open PVRX2 it will take up 99% of the cpu time also. It's almost like the recording service takes over everything else. Again the only way to get it functioning properly is to stop and start the recording service, releasing what ever is running in the background. If anyone has a fix or a workaround, I'd be interested in trying it.

I can't help you with your cpu usage problem.

But if you want to restart your recording service after each recording, just make a file called postprocessing.bat in your gbpvr folder - it will get run at the completion of each recording (this may be a problem if you have back-to-back recordings scheduled)

You can also check in your config.xml file for the line <RecordingServiceHighPriority>true</RecordingServiceHighPriority> (I'm pretty sure thats what it's called) and make sure it's false.

JonnyCam,

Thank you for responding. At least I know that I'm on the same track as the experts cause that's the bat file I ended up using for now.
I tried putting the net stop/start commands in RecordingStatus.bat first, for some reason that didn't work. Although postprocessing does reset and release the recording service from PVRX2 after the recording is finished, I still have a problem with trying to cancel a recording in progress. When I attempt to open PVRX2 during a recording, it utilizes 99% of cpu and never does open fully until I kill the PVRX2 process via task manager and run the net stop/start bat file.
Oh well, can't have your cake and eat too huh? This workaround will definitely work until I stumble onto the real culprit or someone comes up with what my problem really is. If I'm the only one having this issue, then obviously I've got something uniquely in conflict.

I checked my config.xml file and this is what it's set to:
<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>false</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>

Thanks again for the suggestions.
