When I schedule a recording and put PC into standby, GBPVR wont wake the PC to record it. I have tried it with PVRX2 and GBPVR tray running, it makes no difference. I assume it is the GBPVRRecordingService.exe that wakes the PC? This service is running fine as recordings are fine (as long as PC is on!)

WinTV wakes my PC fine, so do scheduled tasks in task scheduler. So it is not as if my PC is a particularily heavy sleeper :-)

I am using S3.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Andy

Here is the relevant part of the recording service log

You will see at 20:38 I turn the PC on and gbpvr panics that it missed the start at 20:37 :-)

Very frustrating.....

Zip and attach the whole GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and I'll take a look.

Does it wake if you set it to record from the EPG rather than manual recordings?

Full log attached, another fail (from manual recording) at 21:21

Am just testing epg based recording.....

Thanks for the super fast replies and help :-)

I have used Slimms MCE standby tool to see if that shows anything, but it shows that GBPVR is not even trying to wake the PC up??

Nope, epg based failed as well:

I did "cheat" with the system time, I assume it was still a valid test?

"cheating" doesn't always work - similarly, I have found that manually putting to sleep can cause problems.
Best to let windows just standby/hibernate itself.
All the waking stuff is done by windows after being when to wake up by gbpvr.
Do you have stuff like this in gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log??

Martin, you are right, "cheating" does not always work.

Yes I do have the polite "asking windows to be awake" entries, and I noticed they are about 3 mins before the recording is starting (obvious really) and I was not suspending until after this time - doh!

Have done a proper test, and it is all working fine :-)

Serves me right for testing as new bit of kit too hard, sorry for the false posting and thanks for the help.
