I'm having a small, not critical issue with playing videos.

Here is my setup:

Dell Laptop with Vizio LCD HD TV connected via VGA out to TV RGB in
Using Windows Media Center remote v.2 with HIP to control GB-PVR (current version)
GB-PVR is set to default play full screen on the second monitor (my TV)

Situation:

When I select the video to play, the remote is no longer responsive. I have to make GB-PVR the selected program (focused) in order to make it work again.

Is this happening for anyone else?

Luckily, I have the Green button set to launch GB-PVR so I can press it again to regain the focus to GB-PVR and use the remote. It seems like that shouldn't be necessary though.

Thanks for your help in advance!

What type of video file are you playing?

When seen situations in the past where some video decoders have created tray icons, which steal the focus. The divx decoder is an example, it creates a divx tray icon. Most people resolved it by uninstalling the divx decoder and using the xvid one instead.

They are AVI files. I was previously using GB-PVR and remember having divx issues for other reasons. I'll check and see if that does it.

Thanks for the heads up.

if you're using the divx codec i'ts probably putting the icon in the task bar which takes focus.
You can use this program to fix it.

I also found this: http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-97022.html

The second to last posting has some good reg info for program specific settings for the DIVX icon in the tray.
