Do you have a restore point (in windows) that you can go back to BEFORE the windows updates? I remember I had to shut out a DirectX update on my old setup because it screwed up playback (about a year ago so I don't remember details).

You can ignore that error. When it's near the end of the log like yours is, it usually means it was in the middle of doing a screen refresh when you closed PVRx2.exe

Yessss sorta, but I'd *really* prefer not to because I've installed new hardware since then (didn't notice the HD playback issue because most of my shows are standard def).

Edit: In any case, I reverted back to DirectX 9.0b and it didn't help at all.

Very very frustrating.

I know, I'v been there Wink

Anyway, have you considerd the possibillity that your new HW is causing the problem? Cpu-demanding drivers etc. I would try to remove the new HW first, and if that doesn't help roll back to before the problem started and if that fixes it install the new HW again.

It's not the new HW, alas (I was kinda hoping the new HW might fix it unintentionally). I had the stutter before I installed the new HW (gfx card) but I had thought it was just a one-time thing so ignored it. Installed the new card. Realized the stutter was here to stay.
