Hello. I've got GBPVR set up and working nicely apart from 2 minor problems.

Firstly, I have a lot of music, pictures and recorded programmes. It takes a long time to scroll through them to get to the one I want. Searching the forum I found the suggestion of mapping the programme up/down buttons on my Hauppage 45 button remote to page up/down. However, I've looked in the irremote.ini and it's beyond me. Is there anything that explains it step by step?

The other problem isn't strictly to do with GBPVR. I have my media pc connected to a plasma TV. I don't have a second monitor attached. I set the computer to output at a resolution of 1080 (which the TV supports) and it works OK. However, after a reboot it usually, but not always, resets itself to a much lower resolution. I can't work out why. Any ideas?

The channel up/down button generally advances page up/down in listst.

And perhaps not surprisingly they change channels too!

@Hop you might also be interested in the Music Plugin it allows moving using mobile phone text type entry on the remote. It won't help for recordings but for music it is very fast just a bit tricky to learn.

Just a guess about the TV; Maybe the TV needs to be switched on or on the correct input for the PC to recognise it as 1080 compatible. Maybe rebooting puts the TV into standby (no video signal) and then when it starts up it doesn't find a 1080 monitor attached so resorts to a lower res?????

GB-PVR can automatically add the required entries to irremote.ini for Hauppauge remotes. This will make the channel up/down act like page up/down keys when a list has the focus.

Thanks for the help. I thought I had to map channel up/down to page up/down because it wasn't working by default. I don't actually use the Hauppauge remote, I use a learning remote with all the functions mapped. Or at least I thought all the functions were mapped... :o

It's working fine now.

That's what I thought but it seems to be fairly random. I've tried having the TV on at the right input when I start the pc, sometimes it works, usually it doesn't. Same if the TV is off, or on a different input.
