Need to send additional command after channel change

Is there someway to have GBPVR send an additional "command" after the channel change numbers are sent on to HIP? I want to be able to send an "pre-programmed exit" about 1sec after the channel change details. (The "exit" is a button on our decoder remote"

The reason is as follows:
Our satelite decoder displays channel info for about 5 seconds everytime a channel is changed. We press "exit" on the decoder remote and it clears it. This cannot be turned off on the decoder nor do we want to. But we have no control over it when a recording does a channel change.

I am guessing we can "read" the "exit" into hip on a standard button of mce remote. But how can i have this included after the channel change command is sent from GBPVR to HIP.

Any suggestions?

I don't know about your problem or even about HIP - but when I used a serial blaster instead of setting config to "blastit.exe" I used an intermediate batch file that sends the channel a character at a time. This may be possible with hipsend but sending an extra character after a delay???
