In Live TV encrypted channels work fine in multidec mode. But as soon as I start a recording or timeshift mode, decoding from the multidec plugin stops. Seems to me like a bug? There are stuff recorded, but it plays back as black video.

It works fine here for both live tv and recording. Infact, I use a multidec setup in my lounge for pretty much all my channels.

Do a recording, then zip and attach the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

Run ReRegisterFilters.bat and it should fix it.

Yes, solved! Thanx!

Strange it did't "click" during installation... Well, guess I have been messing around a bit to much with config files, VB runtimes etc...

Good to hear you are in the same boat now as most of us swedish. Of some peculiar reason we have to buy a subscription card for getting channels with commercials in them.... Most every channel is encrypted.

The one holy grail I am looking for is getting my three tuners to record multiple encrypted channels at once. With the latest mdapi it seems possible, but I haven't gotten it to work yet. At least my Terratec 2400 dual card now works with multidec. That did not work a year ago at all.
If you have some hints in this direction I would appreciate it very much...
As for now one encrypted channel can be recorded simultaneously with multiple FTA channels. A workaround it to use CI for my Twinhan, that should enable two simultaneous encrypted channels.

Btw, what setup do you use for the mdapifilter ini file? Does it work to decode multiple channels?

Actually nothing has changed about my configuration. I've been using multidec for recording my DVB-C channels ever since multidec support was first added a couple of years ago. Its been working fine for me.

Multiple encrypted channels at the same time hasnt been an issue for me, and not something I've tested, so I cant advise on that. If the version of mdapi filter you're using supports multiple instances, it should work though.

I have a DVB-C and a DVB-T card in my lounge setup. The main NZ channels are FTA over DVB-T (5 good main channels). I get these same channels over DVB-C, along with all the good pay tv channels (Discovery, NatGeo, Sky Sports etc). Between these two tuners and my viewing habits, I'm able to record what I want.

Ok, I will have to test and try...
The main reason for needing multi-record is because I plan to set up a client in our kitchen that will stream TV from the living room. That can easily fill up that one working slot of encrypted channels I have had in previous years. Thanx for all help!

Well, holy grail just came a bit closer last night. I was able to record two encrypted channels simultaneously! For a while... Then after a minute or two it just started to hickup and hang. Gee, why is it so hard to get this to work.... ?

Back to the old trial and error approach again to see if some combination of settings/plugins/filter may work....
