Weird issue with HDHomerun scan. Deleted all of my capture sources after upgrading to 1.4.7. Reloading sources to reload channel lineups after many cable company changes. Performed the new load of the HDHomerun software and performed the scan.

My qam.ini now includes the following:
[CABTYPE]
1=All Countries
2=All Frequencies

[DVB]
0=12
1=529250,0,0
2=565250,0,0
3=583250,0,0
4=589250,0,0
5=595250,0,0
6=601250,0,0
7=619250,0,0
8=685250,0,0
9=691250,0,0
10=709250,0,0
11=739250,0,0
12=745250,0,0

Then I proceed to do the digital mapping scan and the config app hangs after scanning the fifth frequency. I have to end the application and have tried everything from restarting to deleting the source and starting again. Same result each time.

Finally I try a manual scan and enter '619250' from the list and the scan begins. The first found entry in entered over and over in a loop to the 'Digital Channels found during scan:' window until the application hangs. I have tried this with all of the entries after '595250' and they all exhibit this behavior.

It never seems to move on to scan other channels on this frequency. (and there are other channels on these frequencies.) Am I missing a config setting?

I've attached the logs folder. There are different messages, but I'm not sure what they are telling me. The 'VERBOSE SIGNAL???' message seems to be in all scans that are having this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is something funny happening which causes an extra "T:" in the tuning request (near the name) which is screwing things up. I'm not sure why thats happening though.

Does it work if you use channel numbers?

Code:
[CABTYPE]
1=All Countries
2=All Frequencies

[DVB]
0=12
1=75,0,0
2=81,0,0
3=84,0,0
4=85,0,0
5=86,0,0
6=87,0,0
7=90,0,0
8=106,0,0
9=107,0,0
10=110,0,0
11=115,0,0
12=116,0,0

It doesn't find any channels. Is there something that I need to change to trigger the 'search' by channel?

Just replace the frequencies in the qam.ini with the channel numbers. Double check the channel numbers I used, they may be wrong for your lineup. If it still doesn't find channels, post your config.*.log files showing the scan.

Strange result. It found the first channels (2 stations) for every channel. and showed them as 116,0,0

Strange. Try a reboot and then a scan. If the results are the same, make sure that Config.exe has an exception in the firewall if you are running one.

OK..here's where the issue stands.

I rebooted the system and HDHR and tried again...no change on the hanging of the auto scan and the repeating the first entry on the manual scan.

I installed the 1.4.7 release on another XP system in my house...exact same results.

I begin to identify frequencies that seem to be causing GB-PVR to hang during the scan even though I can watch them through the HDHR viewer (to verify that there is a valid signal). I accomplish this through trial and error until I can get down to 9 frequencies that can scan safely. After this completes, the Zip code request does not come up to access the Silicon dust server. No Problem...I bring up the HDHR setup program and match the frequencies found to the listing in HDHR.

Luckily... the first channel on one of the removed frequencies was my PBS station. I did a manual scan on that frequency the stopped it during the loop and was able to map that channel successfully...that only leaves 2 channels farther down that frequency that are primary record channels.

Any ideas on how to get entries for these later channels? I would be willing to manually enter them until a solution to the earlier problems can be found.

You can try using tsreader lite to get the required pids.
