Hi All,

I just installed a second capture card (pvr 150 mce) mostly because of the IR Blaster so I can control the shaw digital box. I have installed it, configured it using Hip (following the hip guide 2 from the wiki). I have updated my epg to pull the proper channels that I want (including the higher channels above 70 which require the digital box).

So, I am now able to go through the guide and watch the channels as before (channels 2 - 70) but the higher channels I not able to. My thinking was that the tv channel needs to stay on channel 3 and the blaster will be changing the shaw digital box's channel. What it looks like is that when I am in gbpvr and changing the channel, its still changing the actual tuner channel. I think this is the cause of why I cannot watch the higher channels.

What I am missing in the settings of gbpvr so that the actual tuner channel stays at 3 and that gbpvr actually changes the shaw digital box channels instead?

Just to reiterate, I do have HIP configured as per the wiki using the same files as attached in the wiki, the tuners set up with the correct device # in the config, and the epg pulling all the proper channels and mappings.

Please help!

If the Shaw digital box is a cable box tuning digital cable, and the RG-59 cable you have hooked to your PVR-150 comes from the Shaw digital box's analog RF output, then the PVR-150 is not tuning the channels because I don't think the Shaw digital box will output anything but what it is tuned to, and then only on one channel to your PVR-150. If what you are saying about having guide data and channels mapped and so forth is all correct, then the problem would seem to be that the Shaw digital box itself is not able to tune above ch 70. But it seems that you have the PVR-150 connected directly to the CATV cable instead of getting its signal from the Shaw digital box.

What you want to do for a better picture is use an A/V cable to connect the yellow composite and red/white audio outputs from the Shaw digital box to the corresponding inputs of the PVR-150. Change the device settings for the PVR-150 from tuner locked to channel 3 to composite video and analog audio, then make sure your IR blaster hardware and software are working and you should be all set.
