Hi

I get a black menu screen on startup. The program is running because I can hear the "click" sound as I blindly move through the menu.

Everything worked fine until I changed my 6200LE for the 6600GT and installed the new drivers for that card. This was about two months ago. I've been too busy to work on the problem. I decided to fix it today.

I just installed the latest GBPVR release and the latest video drivers from NVIDIA. Neither one has fixed the problem. Everything else on the PC works as it should. I must be missing something simple.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I had the same symptoms when I used to run XP (using the FSE renderer) and I narrowed it down to something to do with my video driver. Approximately 30 seconds after my machine first displayed the desktop, a tiny hiccup (for lack of a better word) would be visible on the screen while the ATI Radeon control panel launched in my system tray. If I launched GBPVR after this hiccup, it would display just fine. If I launched GBPVR immediately after launch (ie, if I had a shortcut in my startup folder for ASAP execution of PVRX2), I'd get a black screen.

I wrote a batch file that waited 30 seconds to launch GBPVR and put *that* in my startup folder instead of PVRX2, which solved the issue.

Long story short, you might want to experiment with whether it's the "first launch" that is the issue or if you are launching before the system has completely booted, all services started, and everything has settled down.
