PRX2 works but not from startup

either using start_pvrx2.exe or shortcut in startup folder, pvrx2 has a black screen. if you have sounds enabled, you can hear the menu click etc. but can't see anything as below :



using v1.4.7 on windows 7 RTM - logs attached. exiting and restarting works but then returns after reboot. probably a windows 7 thing?

I had this with XP, but not with Windows 7 so far. In either case, I think it is a startup sequence issue. Something in the video card drivers isn't completely ready when PVRX2 initializes. As described in the other thread you linked, the best solution will be to delay PVRX2.

I have seen this a lot in the past - it used to barf with an error when trying to start before the graphics card/driver was ready.

I generally enjoy good success using liteswap's auto_it program that lives in my startup folder

many thanks for responses (there wasn't a response on the other thread when i posted mine!)

is highly likely the graphics drivers are not yet loaded and i have a compiled version of the auto-it script so i can add a delay...

i've just put windows 7 a solid state drive so it boots up quickly - possibly too quickly
