Hey guys,

First day using GBPVR and have managed to get it mostly working.
The one thing I can't do is change channels on my TelstraClear Digital decoder (which I believe is a ADB 3000).

I am using Windows 7 with GBPVR and a PVR-150MCE with the IR reciever and transmitter.

Have tried using HIP (which comes up with an error when started) and IR Server using IRBlast.exe to send channel changes as described in the documentation with no joy.

Has anyone done this before and can lend a hand?

Additionally I've run into a few bugs in GBPVR, when pausing and unpausing live tv it will crash. Also I have a widescreen TV but although I have GBPVR set to 16:9, live tv plays in 4:3.

what blaster are you using? hauppauge or mce? I was never able to get hauppauuge one working, so bought a usb-urit from the states. This can be trained to blast whatever you like.

I think the mce one can do it as well, but I can't personally confirm.

This is pretty much the remote I have, except it has 4 colured buttons and a teletext button at the bottom.

Has RC6 on the underside of the remote.

"Includes IR Receiver ‘beanbag’ and 1 IR Blaster".

what does the usb thing get identified as by windows?

If it's an e-home receiver (under device manager) you should be able to use HIP for it. If not, as psycik said, it may not work.

The haupauge only works with the STB's which have been defined, and I don't think you can learn new codes.

The hauppauge blaster/remote plug directly into the haupauuge card with a mini headphone jack. As far as I know (it didn't when I tried it a few years ago) support the TCL ADB3000 STB.

If yours is USB (like an MCE blaster/receiver) then you may be able to get HIP or girder to work with it.

Its listed as a "eHome Infrared Transceiver". HIP doesn't start, comes up with an error with a long hex code.
Also yes its USB blaster/receiver. I'll try girder, haven't given that one a go yet.

The MCE version, which it looks like you have, is basically a Microsoft device. HIP will work. You will need some third party IR software. You WON"T use Hauppauge sofware)

I use IR Server Suite. It is so easy it hurts.

One thing you might need to work on though, (With any of the IR software) is the MCE USB receiver, using the driver that Windows automatically loads, MIGHT cause some conflict with Windows itself (like one button press doing two separate functions - often seen as a double press (cursor moves twice with one press))

If you have trouble with that, come back.

In the end I got IR Server Suite working. It wouldn't learn IR commands from the remote, but I installed it on a different PC and plugged my IR transceiver into that and it was able to learn the codes. I then copied the codes over to my htpc and used irblast.exe with GBPVR to change channels. However it would often stuff up the second digit of the channel number, which I fixed by adding -delay 500 to the irblast.exe command line.

Hopefully this post helps others. If your unable to learn the IR codes, then message me and I'll send them to you.

Additionally I fixed the livetv aspect ratio problem by pressing "F7" on the keyboard until the "fill" setting was selected.

However I still have alot of crashes in GB-PVR when pausing and fast-forwarding. Hopefully these get resolved in newer releases.
