hauppauge remote configuration

Hi

I have a hauppauge card (Nova TD 500) and a hauppauge remote (45 key). Some keys work and some dont. I tried down loading HIP (HIP appears to work some keys as I can see teh OSD for volume) and EventGhost (the configuration download appears to relate to an old gbpvr) but have had no luck getting them going properly.

Can I do better? Any one got one of these going and prepared to offer advice or a configuration file?

I have the nova-t pci card with the 45 button remote.

clicked on fix haupaggue 45 button remote in config.exe to add [pvrx2] section to your c:\windows\irremote.ini file. restart ir.exe all should be good.

did you do the above ?

if so, what buttons don't work.

if you run "notepad debug.txt" then press the buttons on the remote, their name should appear in notepad. this ensures that all is working ok outside of gbpvr.

Thanks. Silly me, I had disabled ir.exe from autostarting when I went to try the others. Now it is running, most keys are working. thanks for that tip about "notepad debug.txt" that confirms all keys are functional.

I couldnt see the fix haupaggue 45 button remote in config.exe :-( which tab is it on? However I appear to have the section in the ini so may be it is already done.

I will test more thoroughly tonight - can you configure buttons to do differnt things like call up recording library?

It's in the Remote Control Type section on the DVD tab.

Yes, just assign the buttons different keystrokes in the ini file.
