Recordings don't start...

Actually, it looks like the recording service did attempt to start again at 14:41:43, but it didn't start all the way. There's a partial recording service exe log for that time, but no native log.

I've had this happen on occaision when restarting the recording service. I've learned to always verify that recording service really did start.

Odd - the restart @ 14:41:43 was manual (I had made a change in the config app). However, the recording service must have come up in some capacity - it showed up in the Task Manager and I was able to start PVRX2 both on the PC & on my PCH's.

In the future, I guess I'll make sure I can kick off a recording immediately after restarting to make sure it's all the way up...

I do actually have this happen frequently after running config, though not always, not sure why. Usually I just right-click on the GB-PVR status icon in the system tray and select "Show Status". If the service is borked, the menu will be very slow and the tuner list will have 8 unknown tuners rather than the real tuners.
The other way that I think works is if you run the Vista/Win7 GB-PVR desktop gadget that talks to the web server... if the recording service doesn't come up ok, the icon turns red.
