Hauppauge owns Pinnacle (or some of it).

This snippet of news had passed me by until now ... a post in case it passed by anyone else.

True, but I still only recommend people stick to buying Hauppauge branded devices. They're still effectively run as two separate entities, with Hauppauge products developed in the US, and Pinnacle products developed in Germany (in Pinnacle office not Hauppauge office). I only have "Hauppauge" branded test devices, and contacts in the team that develops "Hauppauge" products.

Well if I were looking at things from Pinnacle's side I would probably be happy to be away from Avid.

Didn't Pinnacle used to have a "decent" product way back when? Long before Avid bought them?

Some of their products are great on paper - like my 7010x dual dvb-t dual dvb-s tuner. Support is non existent though and drivers are written once and forgotten. (mine didn't last long either Sad )

Pinnacle just supply supplier reference drivers, and dont do their own driver development or driver bug fixes.
