Analog card with hardware encoding?

Can anyone recommend a good card that can take an analog signal and has a hardware encoder?

Do they even exist?

Hauppauge PVR500 or PVR150 are plain Analogue cards.

The USB version works fine for me as well. PVR2 USB2 I think is the one with hardware mpeg.

Or you can use the HVR2200/2250 dual tuner cards. They have two analogue and two digital (DVB-T) tuners. I replaced my PVR500's for these because I have no longer PCI slots available.

I was going to mention the hvr2200 for analogue...but I'm assuming the OP wants if for taking a signal off a STB, and I wasn't sure if an HVR2200 had the external connectors (svideo/composite etc)

For plain analog tv-recording the ATI 550/650 is a touch better that the Hauppague cards.

The HVR-2200 has a svideo input.
