Whats the easiest way to get gbpvr play .m4a files? Will the K-Lite Codec pack work? If so, would just the "Basic Pack" be ok? Does installing these codecs take up a lot of system memory? I have AC3Filter installed but that doesn't seem to work with the .m4a files. My current operating system is Win 7 64 bit.
It works using PVRX2 on my computer, but not the PCH A-100

get mpchc filter to play it and register it....
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/files/
download "standalone filters", try 32 bit version...

the only filter you need in there is mpadecfilter.ax
copy it to windows\system32
register it with "regsvr32 mpadecfilter.ax"
then add .m4a to <MusicLibraryExtensions> so you can see them in music library..
then go have fun playing Smile

oops, may also need to use the .mp4 splitter too..Smile

GBPVR will send any audio file format to the NMT that ffmpeg can decode. Files are sent as PCM so the don't loss quality. The process doesn't use codecs but you might need a new ffmpeg 0.5.0 is here http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ffmpeg

This is the last time I will answer one of your NMT questions posted in the wrong forum.

Martin,
Thanks again for your help. I am sorry that I posted in the wrong forum. I am not some computer expert like you. From my perspective, all I knew was that gbpvr was not able to play this type of file when I tried to do it. I thought this question was more related to codecs or gbpvr. You have criticized me in the past for posting in NMT forum when I wasn't supposed to and now for not posting in the NMT forum. I am not intentionally trying to irritate you, just trying to solve my problem. As for not answering my posts in the future because I accidentally post it to the wrong forum that will definitely be my loss, because I truly appreciate all the help you have provided me in the past.

Just to let you know it's not personal, and I do care that you can't hear your m4a files, and want to help. I like the problems related the NMT grouped so that in the future I am not the single source for solutions. If you post in the right forums, other NMT users might see the thread and be able to reply to you (when it breaks with the next GBPVR upgrade overwrite of ffmpeg) or others in the future.

On top of that is saves time. Looking at the pBS's reply he put some effort into his reply, which was partly wasted because you posted in the wrong forum.
