The logs show that it's not locking onto a signal on that channel. According to this post at AVS, the RabbitEars.info is wrong. Your tuning string should be what you already had except for the Program Number (P:1):

Code:
T:7,0,0~[color=Red][B]P:3[/B][/color]~TSID:2753~[color=red][B]V:49[/B][/color]~[color=red][B]A:52[/B][/color]~PMT:48~[color=red][B]PCR:49[/B][/color]~N:>7.1 KTBCDT

None of this should matter since it doesn't even lock on that frequency though. Were you getting Live TV on that channel before changing the tuning string?

8ace Wrote:Hello - I am unable to properly tune all the available channels (they work fine with the bundled software) with GBPVR - I am not sure if I am selecting the right video capture card from the capture setup section.

My card is - Pinnacle PCTV 800i PCI. OS - XP.

But amongst the many Pinnacles, the nearest is an 800e driver (which I have tried).

Any suggestions?

'Device Type' for the Pinnacle 800i card are 'Pinnacle PCTV HD' and 'Pinnacle PCTV HD (QAM)'...

thanks. I am running it as Pinnacle HDTV now.

But still the same: Pinnacle app picks up 16 channels, GBPVR picks up less than that..... but only will let me record on one or two of them....

I tried experimenting copying the Pinnacle channel settings and comparing them to the GBPVR Tuning Requests, but I don;t really understand what I doing Big Grin

What I don't understand is that I never had these problems with my Hauppauge 1800 Tuner on my other box, it finds everything and records everything

That begs the question why did you bother buying the Pinnacle device, searching the forums indicate lots of problems with them

You do have another option you can copy your scan cache from your other box and it should work if you aren't having signal issues.

hello Martin - well... ha!! ... my hauppage machine got 'reassigned' and in a rush I needed a PCI card .... Fry's have a MILLION pci-e cards... and only one PCI. And the rest is history.... do you happen to run GBPVR with a (cheap) PCI card you'd recommend?

Each capture source has a scan cache file stored in the GBPVR\BDA folder.
Scan-[CaptureSource OID].cache

These are just text files so you can open them in notepad to see which is missing the required entry. You can copy the values from another one that does have the entries.

THANK YOU!! That did it. I can now get Fox in glorious HD (getting ready for the new season of 24...). BTW here's the string that worked:

T:7,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>7.1 KTBC DT (eng(AC3))

And whurlston, while you're still thinking about channels and stuff.... here's an easy one for you Big Grin

local KVUE - 42.1 should be the english channel. 42.2 NVUE (KVUE2DT) - Spanish.
For some reason I have them mixed up.... don't know how!

KVUEDT
T:33,24,1~P:1~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>24.1 KVUE-DT (000(AC3))

KVUE2DT
T:33,24,1~P:1~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>24.1 KVUE-DT (000(AC3))

Any suggestions? They both record fine, but just swapped.

Your example isn't correct, rather than modifying the strings I would simply ignore what the text says and map to the scan that plays correctly.

Yeah, I would just change it in the mapping window. Just so you know, GBPVR desn't really care about the name portion of the tuning string. If it's in the stream, GBPVR puts it in the tuning string just to help you identify when mapping. You could have "N:> ILoveTV" mapped to your SiFi channel and as far as GBPVR is concerned, it's SiFi.
