I've been using GB-PVR for a couple years and it's been great. A few days ago I decided to install a BR dvr player.

Here's what I'm trying to do... rip a m2ts file with DVD-Fab. That works. I can play the files in CyberLink 8 just fine. MS Media Player is blank for several minutes then plays a very distorted view of the movie. Media Player Classic won't play it, but does give me this info on the file
Video: WVC1 1920x1080 23.98fps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 640Kbps [Audio]
Subtitle [Subtitle]

Should I be trying "MPEG-2 Playback" decoder settings or "Advanced Codec" settings? I've tried FFDshow, Cyberlink. No luck. I installed matroska splitter, because of another post, no luck.

When I render the file in GraphEdit, it shows...

Nero Splitter ---> ffdshow video decoder -----> vmr input 0 vid renderer
\
\---> AC3Filter -----------> audio input pin Def Direct Snd Dev.

any ideas????

Many thanks

Richard

m2ts files are containers, that if you've got a bluray rip hold h.264 video stream. So MEPG2 decoder wont help you.

You want the H.264 decoder settings. You could also try tsremuxr and remux the m2ts to a .ts file. Depends on the audio stream in the container.

No need to rip them. If you will use AnyDVD HD you will be able to play them directly from DR disc. SAF (link below) should be able to play m2ts files just fine.

I rip them so I can put them in Video's and watch them later.

Thanks.

Ahh...a fellow Blu-Ray newbie. You might want to join the 'Ripping Blu-Rays' thread that I started last week in the General Discussions area.
