So, if I get a cable with with svideo at one end and RCA at the other end, that should work even with the WinTV-PVR-USB2, right?

Edit: I just saw that they're available on Ebay. I'll get one.

You want to use one with svideo (and two RCA's for left/right audio) at both ends.

If you dont have one of those, or your STB doesnt have a svideo output, then you can go for composite connection (three RCA at both ends, video and left/right audio).

I just tried the composite connection, 3 RCAs at both ends, but it didn't work (message: IR not supported). I suspect that I may get that message even with the s-video connection. In that case, I may have to get the HVR-1950.

That doesnt sounds like a GB-PVR message. Can you post a screen shot of the message?

Aha! I am using Windows Media Center. I am going to install GB-PVR and see what happens.

I installed GB-PVR and got it to capture all channels. Thanks!
However, the remote control isn't working. Any idea how to fix that?
