I presently manually execute a .bat file that uses wget to obtain listings from either http://mr.geek.nz/epg/getlist.html?channels=ter or http://ontv.orcon.net.nz/listings.xml... Both good NZ sources and much appreciated.

Is there a way that this could be incorporated into the "EPG Source" section of GBPVR Configuration, so that it would automatically update it for me, similar as to XMLTV or Zap2It does?
Regards,
Hasso

You can just place a URL in the XMLTV file name field (ie, http://mr.geek.nz/epg/getlist.html?channels=ter) and it will automatically download and process the file.

Great, thanks. For some reason I had always assumed that I was restricted specifically to using xmltv or Zap2it.

It is restricted to using XMLTV, Zap2it or Bleb. In this case the file is just a normal XMLTV file, so you just use the normal XMLTV plugin, but instead of picking up the file off a local drive, GB-PVR downloads it from a remote server.

Makes sense.

There are times when one NZ source or the other is not available so I use one of three sources. The .bat file would download (in order of availability) using wget, and a utility (called change.exe) was used to make the channel ids/names consistent within GBPVR so that things like the TV Guide would not have basically 'duplicate' entries. I was just hoping that I could actually execute this .bat file from within GBPVR.

Hasso

If you need to do complex (non-standard) processing like this, just call your batch file from UpdateEPG.bat which is automatically called before the actual update is performed. This gives you a chance to download and manipulate the files just prior to GB-PVR doing it's business.

Thanks... That certainly looks like it would do the trick.
