I think the bigger the TV, the worse the picture is going to look when using the same resolution.   Like viewing a website @ 800x600 on a 15" monitor looks great, but when you view that same website @ 800x600 on a 21" monitor, it's grainy and blocky looking.  If i recall correctly, the medium setting uses 720x??? for the resolution... so it looks pretty nice on my 19" FD trinitron screen in my office, but on my 36" Sony WEGA in the living room it's OK... but almost no difference between the recordings and the picture direct from my Dish network box to the TV.  No fault of the GBPVR, just nature of the beast.

Sorry to jump off topic, but I have a ? for EJR.  Are you changing channels on your Dish reciever using GBPVR?  If so, could you look at my topic HERE

I have noticed that when I make DVDs from the recordings which play blocky with GBPVR or WinTV2000 and play them back on the same TV using my stand alone DVD player that the blockiness is way reduced - I almost get original quality. So it looks like my problem is in the graphics card or the video playback. I am going to try a new graphics card, but right now I started from scratch and can't get winTV2000 to start - it just hangs at the start screen [Image: sad.gif] so I may be back crying for some help
