Tuner in SLEEPING status

Greetings,

I think this is probably one of those annoyng repeat questions that most new users throw in but after a couple of hours blundering about in the forums I haven't found a solution.

I was looking for a better PVR than the software that came with my KWORLD PLUS TV USB Stick and came across GBPVR ... it looks to be just what I wanted.

After installation the config tool found my card and also found all the TV channels I expected, happily showing them in preview mode .. all seemed to be OK.

However after starting the main application and selecting LIVE TV there was no response at all ! The "TV Guide" shows all the EPG information so that looks OK. The STATUS option on the tray icon shows my tuner as SLEEPING.

Can somebody please tell me how to wake it up. If I shut down the GBPVR and fire up the HyperMediaCenter from KWORLD it functions as expected.

Zip and post your pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log after reproducing the problem.

Thanks for your response .. the logs are attached ... a couple of screenshots from the channel config are also included in the zip file.

Its unable to communicate with the recording service. Either you've got some antivirus or firewall software getting in the way of communication with the recording service, or the recording service isnt running.

Thanks for the information ... McAfee was blocking themain program and its now working.
I have a couple of new queries if you have time

1. Although its now working I am finding the picture quality on some programs is poor with noticable "raster lines" compared to the same program on the original hypermedia software. Can you suggest which config options I should look at to get better results ?

2. I dont understand why the program needs to have internet access for local TV viewing ? This makes me a bit nervous.

#1 will come down to the decoder you're using. Try a different decoder.
