Hi,

I have tried Skip Tool and I find it slow and cumbersome.
Are there any tools like DVR Edit? Where you can skim through the show with a slider and mark the ins and outs of commercials?

VideoReDo is not free but it's awesome. The latest TV Suite has support to convert files to H.264. I've tested and used it for about 4 months and have been very impressed. Good support forum and updates.
Roxio has Videowave but it's a bit cumbersome.

I also have switched to VideoRedo. I use Comskip to mark commercials as the video is being recorded, and have batch files for postprocessing that I use to do final commerical edits and removal. Works great, and commercial removing is relatively fast, 2-4 minutes for 60 minute show.
