...perhaps Smile

Sub: I've had further correspondence with the developers of coreAVC regarding the unreliability of using coreAVC as a codec in GBPVR. Here's the latest email, that arrived today:

"What should be happening is the upstream filter needs to call NewSegment() on CoreAVC's input pin, to notify it properly that the stream has changed. Not doing so should be considered invalid directshow behaviour.

Regardless, I have modified CoreAVC so it should behave better if the stream changes without a NewSegment() call. You can find a demo build here: ..."

**Note: Sorry - I've just edited this post to remove the download link, as I've just received a request from corecodec to not make it publicly downloadable. I'll test it myself and report back on how it goes.**

It would be great if you could take a look at this Smile
Thanks again,
Pete.

GB-PVR isnt connected to CoreAVC input pin, so cant call this. The Microsoft MPEG2 Demultiplexer is connected to this pin. I have no idea if it is calling NewSegment() or not. I have no visibility of this, but regardless, the way this demultiplexer is delivering data is enough to get a good result from other decoders like the Arcsoft and Cyberlink H.264 decoders, so I'd hope the CoreAVC decoder could deal with it nicely too.

I dont have time to try that new decoder myself right now, but if anyone does, I'll be interested to know how they get on.

If no one reports having tried it in the next week or so, bump the thread and I'll see if I can squeeze some time in for testing it.
